DAY 6 - Back to Vegas

A 3 hours ride easy going. Not much traffic on the way but dense as soon as you approach Vegas. Returned the bike at 3p.m. Spoke to two test riders (currently on Harley and Victoria). The liked the 1200 RT and the GS very much.

Strolled the malls of  Vegas during the 2nd half of afternoon. Las Vegay has changed quite bit, since I was here twelve years ago.
Tomorrow, early departure to NYC. Will meet my son. Unfortunately, my daughter has left NYC yesterday.

DAY 6 - From Page to Springdale

A rather short ride from Arizona to Utah. First stop in Kanab, a classic Western Town. Via Mt. Carmel junction straight into the Zion National Park.

With the motorcycle you pay 12 USD (23 USD with the car) entrance fee (also just for passing through). The park is worth it. It is the Virgin River which has carved out the canyon. The most scenic part, 12 miles long, the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive is not permitted for private vehicules. But the bus is included in the entrance fee and runs every 7 - 8 minutes. Enjoy the pics.

DAY 5 - Slendering the streets of Page

Looking for a restaurants for the dinet (I can recommend Stromboli) there are no spectacular views ir sights. Still I took some pics : hope you enjoy!

Again on the bike heading north traversing for the first 50 miles the Grand Canyon. The continued to Cameron. The direct way to Page on US 89 was blocked since the road was washed away last year. So a detour via Tuba City where I stopped for a coffee. Nothing much to see -  so I took a photo with my bike. If you travel the roads in Arizona, I would think of the Cowboys (which I would probably regret): the scenenary is mostly the same, red soil, little vegetation and the horizon is endless.
For large sections the roads are just a straight line, which is not so amusing for today's "cowboys" riding on a steel horse.
Page, a main road city as  announced on the city entrance plate is exactely what the sign post promised. But there is the Lake Powell, I guess an artificial one, since they have built a huge dam.

Some info on Hermits Trail

Most of the trails are paved. But there are also the real one's for hikers, which go down to the Grand Canyon. I did a bit of "Hermits Trail", one of those; for a good two hours. Enjoy the pics.
